Ollie and Satu

Ollie and Satu

When Ollie and I met, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We also knew we absolutely could not wait to be parents. Our journey to bring a child into our loving home started 4.5 years ago in. Since those first exciting months of ttc, we ended up having an ectopic pregnancy which has left me with reduced fertility after a fallopian tube had to be removed. Despite our best efforts, which has included trying naturally, 6 iuis, 1 Fresh ivf cycle, and 3 more miscarriages, we find ourselves still childless. 4.5 yrs. It has been 54 months. I can’t tell you the number of pregnancy tests we’ve taken (literally hundreds), or the number of early morning drives to ultrasounds in another city (we live in a rural community), the number of times my incredible husband has comforted me when my cycle comes instead of two pink lines, the thousands of dollars of our savings we have spent, or the never ending feeling of guilt and hopelessness. This is #1in6. It is unimaginable pain I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. And somehow, we will do it all again. We have 6 frozen blastocysts waiting for us in Calgary; hopefully we have the chance to use some of them soon. With the love and support we provide each other, this journey has made us stronger as a couple, we know we can survive anything from here on out. Fingers crossed, and lots of baby dust!!!
